- Course objectives
- Maximise the use of English in varied activities aimed at the development of all leanguage skills;
to provide students with an opportunity to work with academic texts from the field of education;
provide students with an opportunity to use actively newly acquired knowledge in the field of education and foreign language learning both in written and spoken form (academic writing, presentations); students are also given space to present their bachelor theses as a power point presentation;
continue compiling teaching portfolios, enhance their skills of presenting and analysing it;
develop the ability of self-assessment and feedback fiven to other students. - Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, students will be able to actively use the English language in a wide spectrum of communicative situations • will be able to fluently express themselves • will be able to write texts that demonstrate a good grasp of writing conventions (including correct grammar and rich vocabulary) • will be able to read and understand various types of texts • will be able to independently work with printed and online materials to improve their skills • .

- 1. Creative procedures in foreign language teaching. Dealing with texts from professional journals.
- 2. Listening strategies. Cohesive devices in academic texts.
- 3. Preparation and analysis of a listening text from didactic and language point of view.
- 4. Independent spoken production. Tips for a successful presenation.
- 5. Spoken interaction. Reaction to questions related to students' presentations.
- 6. Reading: text analysis. Teacher profile (written assignment).
- 7. Reading: reading strategies including extensive reading in students' free time.
- 8. Writing as a process. Writing a short academic text.
- 9. Giving feedback on a written assignment.
- 10. Integrated skills in lesson preparation.
- 11. Basic assessment tools. Learner profile (written assignment).

- Teaching methods
- Course syllabus is integrated with a course in methodology - Basics of Methodology 4. Integrated topics (see the course contents) are supplemented with collocations, idioms, phrasal verbs, grammar topics for advanced C1 level, students' facilitations of learning ventres, microteaching and relevant writing formats where students focus on academic style.
