- Cíle předmětu
- This course introduces students to the basic skills of critical reading, thinking and writing. At the end of the course, students will be able to pose effective questions for a subsequent analysis, examine crucial concepts in writings from varied disciplines and make connections between ideas as well as synthesize them. They will learn how to turn their individual interpretation into a complex argument and how to support that argument by relevant textual evidence.
- Výstupy z učení
- After the successful passing of the course students will:
- acquire the necessary vocabulary to describe literary and other cultural works of art;
- learn to work with the specific vocabulary connected to literary history;
- critically assess the literary text and apply the terminology on its analysis;
- understand the differences between individual literary periods and genres;
- distinguish between different genres by identifying their main characteristics;
- understand the differences between theoretical approaches;
- apply the approaches to a specific literary and other cultural material; - Osnova

The access to the moodlinka course is reserved only to people currently registered there. The password will be announced in the first class of the semester. Although this course addresses some elements of English composition, this is not its major focus.
