Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows (1) to be able to prepare plant material for observations; (2) to practically recognize major determination and evolution characteristics of vascular plants; (3) to identify common Czech plants; (4) to apply these skills in the preparation of a plant collection; (5) to know the basic methods used in botany.

  • 1. Determination keys, floras and other botanical books 2. Bryophyta (mosses) 3. Lycopodiophyta 4. Equisetophyta, Ophioglossaceae 5. Polypodiales, Salviniales – ferns 6. Cycadophyta, Ginkgophyta, Gnetophyta 7. Pinophyta 8. Angiosperms I (Magnoliaceae, Ranunculaceae, Boraginaceae, Caryophyllaceae, Lamiaceae) 9. Angiosperms II (Brassicaceae, Rosaceae, Fabaceae, Apiaceae, Asteraceae, Poaceae) 10. The important species of the flora of the Czech Republic 11. Herbarium preparation
