Prerequisites
Presumtions: Through the form of workshops students demonstrate their theoretical knowledge gained from the lector's lectures. The outputs are: - vocational essay that they advocate in the final presentations. - written exam – verification of acquired knowledge. - project creation: „The third pillar of the society“ – Group work in teams of students (Creation of a fictional non-profit organization dealing with specific themes from the following fields: social / economic / cultural / ecological / safety / pedagogical / health, etc.)

Course objectives
After completing the subject student: He develops abilities and learns skills in the area of collaboration, communication and leadership, especially for the creation of their future work teams, focusing on institutions operating in assisting professions. He wil sort out the gained knowledge with the interdisciplinary use in the fields of social work psychology, work and management psychology, human resources management, etc.
Learning outcomes (in Czech)
Student: ● se orientuje v současných teoriích vedení lidí, v metodách a technikách, díky nimž je uváděna teorie do praxe ● dokáže kriticky pracovat s informačními zdroji a jejich využití v rámci vedení a propagace NO zabývajících se danými oblastmi. ● dokáže připravovat, realizovat a vyhodnotit potenciální projekty. ● analyzuje specifika různorodých cílových skupin s ohledem na organizaci práce s nimi.
Syllabus
  • The subject is conceived as interdisciplinary with the use of knowledge of social psychology of work, psychology of work and management, human resources, management, coaching, etc. In seminars students are dealing with the issue of leadership and management in NGOs in terms of attitude and necessary skills. The principle is built on the basis of connecting the theory with practice, which includes the basic functions of softskills and hardskills, economic and personnel management, solves labor-law and personal relations in the organizations management, including legal, marketing, fundrising and PR ones. Learning outcomes: • Support skills and knowledge, develop student skills in collaboration, communication and leadership, especially for the creation of their future work teams, focusing on institutions primarily active in assisting professions. • Get insight into management issues and basic orientation in the institutions management within the non-profit sector, which includes basic elements and functions (economic and personnel management), including the existing relevant legislation. • Get an overview of work and personal relations in management, including legal, marketing, fundrising and PR field. Course syllabus (discussed topics) • The art of communication from the manager’s point of view – types of communication, recommendations for managerial communication (feedback, argumentation, negotiation, listening, etc.) • Personal typology and their application to the leader and other team members • Leadership, management and main management functions - planning, organizing, staffing, leadership of people, their motivation, control and evaluation. • Teamwork and collaboration issues, work team, team roles • Coaching, mentoring and supervision • Timemanagement • Mission and goals of a nonprofit organization • The environment and legislation of the non-profit sector • Qualitative factors of activity – human potential, relations and the organizations management • Quantitative Activity Factors - Resources and fundrising in the non-profit sector • Planning and evaluation of the activities
