Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able: 1. to understand and explain: fundamental terms - morphology, morpheme, morph, grammatical structure of the word, criterion of the word sorts classification; 2. to distinguish the grammatical category of the nouns and of the verbs, inflected word sorts; 3. to use grammatical forms, their variants; 4. to explain the tendency of the contemporary Czech morphology. The students get fundamental knowledge and competence of the contemporary Czech morphology.
Learning outcomes

  • 1. Morphology - fundamental terms.
  • 2. Functional and formal morphology.
  • 3. Word sorts and their classification.
  • 4. Grammatical category of the nouns.
  • 5. Grammatical category of the verbs.
  • 6. Declination of the substantives, adjectives, pronouns and numerals.
  • 7. Conjugation.
  • 8. Uninflected words.

Teaching methods
Type of teaching: consultation - active analytical students´ work in the analysis of texts, active synthetic students´ work in the interpretation of linguistic phenomena, problem method, controlled discussion
Assessment methods
The course ends with a written examination consisting of two parts: the language and spelling. The content of the written test is given by thematic areas of both disciplines comprising 12 teaching tasks. Student must correctly solve 10 of them. and spelling.
