- Course objectives
- Students will be familiar with selected current issues of co-temporary children’s and youth literature. Students will be able to orient in current literary production with the knowledge of context as well as critical reflection.
- Learning outcomes
- Student: - will be able to perceive the basic trends and changes of the current children’s and youth literature; - will be very familiar with selected particular and interdisciplinary topics that are deepening their current overview; - will be able to orient in the current forms of the critical reflection of youth literature, literary awards, and the like.
- Syllabus
- 1.-2. Children’s and youth literature in the 1990’s, changes of genres, editorial and critical practice. 3. Children’s and youth literature in the 21st century. Trends, changes of themes and inner genre structure. Important publishing houses focused on children’s and youth literature. 4. Children’s and youth poetry. Important authors. 5. Prosaic genres in co-temporary children’s and youth literature. Important authors. 6. Regarding development and conception of co-temporary book illustrations. Important illustrators of children’s book and authors of original picture books.
