Prerequisites
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of school legislation in the Czech Republic. Teaching is focused on the legal sector, which closely relates to the activities of the educator. The course is designed to respond to current problems in both theoretical and practical areas. The course will provide students with basic orientation in the current school system of the CR, its organization as well as conceptual issues of education.

Course objectives
Learning outcomes: • Students will obtain a basic overview of legal issues in education (school legislation). • Students will understand the basic concepts of the studied discipline. • Students will be able to explain some relationships and relationships between the attributes of the subject
Syllabus
  • 1) Educational system, system of school legal entities and school facilities, state administration in the education sector. National (Public) and private schools. 2) School regulations: Act No. 561/2004 Coll., On pre-primary, basic, secondary, higher vocational and other education, (The Education Act), implementing decrees. Content of the School Act, individual parts. 3) Act on teaching staff, status of teachers and school principal, rights and obligations of school staff. Position of pupils and students and their rights and obligations, rights and obligations of pupils' legal representatives. 4) Academic self-government, status and role of higher education institutions. 5) Obligations and options of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Czech School Inspectorate. Role of the founders of schools and their activities towards schools. 6) The issue of the right to education as a fundamental right, equal access to education, education of pupils with special education Educational needs and the functioning of special schools. Legal aspects of inclusion. Forms of discrimination against pupils with support Support measures.
