Course objectives
The aim of the course is to equip students with knowledge cencerning autistic spectrum disorders, such as terminology, characteristics of disability, diagnostics,support of individuals with ASP and their families, educational possibilities including current situation in everyday life issues, research and the overall current situation of ASP persons in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Learning outcomes
- Student can characterize ASP
- Student knows the ASP diagnosis procedures
- Focuses on the possibilities of educating children with ASP and knows the current situation in practice
- Has an overview of available literature and its content
- Can recommend the adequate literature and movie sources to parents and teachers
- Can describe ways to work with ASP children
- Is able to suggest an intervention procedure in specific cases

Teaching methods
Processing a case study of a person with a PAS with regard to the way of education and support, processing annotations of selected professional publications, processing the situation of persons with PAS in the region.
Assessment methods
The student will process a case study of a person with ASP regarding the way of education and support, second the annotation of selected professional publications, and the description of the situation of people with ASP in their region - all will be presented during the lectures and will receive feedback from the teacher and the students.
