- Course objectives
- For its complexity, the subject of ceramic art is used in the teaching of all classical techniques of free art such as drawing, painting and modeling; thus practicing areal and spatial vision and feeling. It works with ceramic mass both classical and experimental, in all its states, eg. - in space by creating installations, objects, containers, sculptures, etc. In parallel, the study acquaints students with technology and craft with ceramics connected with all this in connection with the visual art of the 20th century to the present. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of free art and design, which are applicable for later application for example in art pedagogical practice and further art education.
- Learning outcomes
- On the basis of semestral assignments, the student gets acquainted with the theoretical and practical part of the task in the form of consultations and workshops by the teacher. In the introductory lessons, the assignment is discussed to the smallest detail, followed by a review of the topic of contemporary visual art; joint consultation on sketches, individual consultation. The structure of each topic consists of two parts. The first output is always a realistic sketch, shape, container, object or installation in the material. In the second part, students transform their concept in a visual form such as an action, process, etc., which they record in photo documentation or video. Based on the acquired knowledge, utility objects created by classical craft techniques - for example by rotation on a potter's wheel, by casting, but also by photo records of the process or actions in the exterior or interior - are created. The aim of the teacher is to achieve for each student a shift from mastered craft to personal expression.
- Syllabus
- - enter a topic in the group - group consultations on sketches and designs, discussion of proposals and evaluation of searches (according to the requirements in the field of free and applied art) - realization, continuous individual consultation with the teacher - workshop of teacher - practical demonstration of techniques connected with ceramic material (spinning, casting into molds, neriagi etc.) with active participation of students - spatial realization in material - work with clay (plaster, etc.) by classical ceramic techniques - modeling, casting, forming, painting techniques, concurrent documentation of photographs or video (process photo, action) - presentation and defense of the concept - output - material realization, photo documentation, video
