Course objectives
Purposes of this course is to obtain basic theoretical knowledge in psychology of primary school children from the social and educational point of view. Theoretical knowledge concerning psychological components of professional work in primary school. At the end of this course student should be able to:
- describe and explaine basic concepts from the field of social and educational psychology
- define process of socialization, social learning and social environment, social group of children and its influence on primary school child
- describe the teaching - learning process and its principals
- apply bacis knowledge of social and educational psychology in school practice
Syllabus
  • 1. Psychosocial specification of primary school child.
  • 2. Application of psychosocial attainments in teacher´s practice.
  • 3. Interpersonal interaction and activities the main base for teacher´s work.
  • 4. Socialization and social learning. Attitudes, social roles, self estem, aspiration, values.
  • 5. Perceptional skills and atribution in teacher´s work. Perception stereotypes, mistakes in perception.
  • 6. Communication. Teacher´s skills and abilities in communication.
  • 7. Psychology of group life with a focus on dynamism and structure of small group of children.
  • 8. Social traits, social skills as a part of a teacher´s professional training
  • 9. Psychology of teaching-learning process, law of learning, types of learning.
  • 10. Psychology of creativity and inteligence.
  • 11. Difficulties with problem behavior in primary school children.
  • 12. Psychology of education. Conception of upbringing and education, aim and terms of eductation, parenting style.
  • 13. School climate and class climate.
  • 14. Psychology of teacher´s personality, teacher´s stress, burn-out, prevention, hardeness, resilience, teacher´s health.
