- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
- fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- Chemistry for Education (programme PdF, B-CH3S) (2)
- Chemistry for Education (programme PdF, B-SPE)
- Lower Secondary School Teacher Training in Chemistry (programme PdF, B-SPE)
- Course objectives
- The main objectives of the course are the following: assumption of fundamental laboratory methods of organic chemistry for synthesis (heating, stirring, cooling, introduction of gases, working with decrease of pressure, drying) and separation of organic compounds (filtering, crzstallization, distillation, extraction). The methods are trained on important types of organic compounds syntheses. The products are characterized by melting point, thin-layer chromathography, refractive index.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course the student will be able to: Combine the theoretical knowledge gained in the lectures and the independent study of professional literature with practical verification on selected experiments that characterize the main chemical problems of chemistry of elements and their organic compounds. Practical use in laboratory tasks of organic chemistry of intellectual and manual laboratory skills and abilities, which the students received in the subject of laboratory technique. Practically manage school experimental work in the field of organic chemistry. Work carefully and thoughtfully in the laboratory to clearly and systematically process and document the results of laboratory work.
