- Course objectives
- The aim of this subject is to acquire basic knowledge of physical foundations of the material science. The emphasis is on the logical structure of this discipline and acquiring knowledge and skills needed for teaching vocational subjects in secondary school. For this reason, a larger number of simple experiments is included in the lectures. The relationship of the subject matter to practise is also emphasized. Objectives: Knowledge: A comprehensive overview of knowledge about Physical foundations of materials science with an emphasis of the relationship of the subject matter to practise, nature, home, technical applications etc. Skills: To be able to identify the principles of technical applications. Make sufficient approximation based on fundamental physical laws and carry out calculations of simple examples of application. To know the relationship of the subject matter with its practical applications. To be able to make a reasonable estimate of values. Attitude: To learn the values of objectivity and significance of scientific work.
