- Course objectives
- The aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of Russian transformations, focusing on the development of morphological and fonetic system. The attention will also be paid to the comparative aspects of Russian and Czech languages.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course student will be able to describe important aspect of Russian language; to analyze morphological phenomena and fonetic structures of contemporary Russian.
- Syllabus
- 1. Russian vowels: articulatory characteristics, differences between Russian and Czech vocal system. 2. Russian consonants: articulatory characteristics, differences between Russian and Czech consonant system. 3. Positional and combinatorial changes in the realization of sounds in continuous speech. Work with dictionaries and textbooks. 4. Flexible word types from a comparative point of view (RJ, ČJ). Work with corpora and textbooks. 5. Inflexible word types from a comparative point of view (RJ, ČJ). Work with corpora and textbooks. 6. Selected aspects of Russian-Czech interference at the morphological level.
