- Course objectives
- Students will have hands-on experience in using various methods and techniques of TEFL. They will cover the basic principles of teaching and developing language skills, they will learn to plan an integrated skill lesson and they will choose and evaluate materials for their lessons. The modes of delivery will include: - reading assignments - model-analysis – reflection - loop input The practical tasks will include: - compiling the teaching portfolio - planning a lesson - microteaching The participants will be expected to reflect on their teaching and learning experience based on the EPOSTL (European Portfolio for Student Teachers of Languages) and they will react to some issues in writing.
- Learning outcomes
- Students understand specific needs of lower secondary language learners. Students know and use classroom language and instructions at adequate level. Students are able to design adequate types of activities for their learners. Students understand and apply theoretical principles into their teaching. Students reflect on their experience and develop their professional competences. Students give and get feedback and react positively to it. Students link the theory to the activities they keep in their teaching portfolios and explain teaching principles.
