Prerequisites
Students will examine the relationship between the teacher and the teaching assistant, as well as the school and classroom environment and the culture of recognition in the school setting. The main topic will be school as a system, basic concepts and special education concepts.

Course objectives
The purpose of the course is to map the basic pedagogical concepts and methods. It will include a brief historical insight and orientation in the basic trends of pedagogy with regard to inclusion.
Learning outcomes
Basic orientation to the structure of training programmes and the assessment system. Students will cover the basics of didactic educational activities and the promotion of cooperation among students.
Syllabus
  • Pedagogy as a science of education. Educational goals. The school as a system (including the organisation of the school year), basic pedagogical and special pedagogical concepts, special educational needs. Basic orientation in the structure of educational programmes. Introduction to the system of evaluation of pupil work and behaviour from the perspective of pedagogy. Basics of didactic and educational activities. Prosocial behaviour of the pupil. Preparation for teaching as part of the profession of teaching assistant. Promotion of critical thinking and autonomy of pupils in the learning process. Current trends in education - inclusion, school and family cooperation, school and community. The importance of the school in the social environment.
