- Course objectives
- Deepening the knowledge of the current status of the Czech language units and getting acquainted with their developmental tendencies. The focus will be on describing the current spoken language. Students will get an overview of the basic laws of language development, language and social communication. It deepens the ability to distinguish the official and unofficial sphere of communication and extends basic knowledge of the cultural and historical traditions of the European environment. He also understands the development of the Czech language in connection with the development of the Indo-European language family and the Prasloven language.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the participant will be able to understand the dynamic of the Czech language from the diachronic and synchronous point of view and the subject of interest in cognitive linguistics; To gain insight into the relationship between language, social communication and orientation and to modify the lessons learned in secondary school pupils.

- 1. The current status of Czech language departments and their developmental tendencies; 2. Current spoken language; 3. Basic principles of language development, language and social communication; 4. Official and unofficial sphere of communication; 5. Development of the Czech language in connection with the development of the Indo-European language family and the Praslovian language.

- Active analytical students´ work in the analysis texts, active synthetic students´ work in the interpretation of linguistic phenomena, discussion about the professional course issues.

- For successful completion of the course must be: 1. final project seminar/essay on a given topic; 2. Study of suggested literature. Detailed requirements are available in each term in Study Materials of the course in the Information System MU, the folder Learning Materials.
