Course objectives
The aim of the course is to practise the knowledge acquired by independent study: basic word-formation concepts, word-formation system and its arrangement, basic word-formation methods and procedures. Derivation of nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs; compounding of nouns and adjectives; contractions; marginal ways of forming words. Students should acquire the ability to parse a word based on a specified algorithm (including expression using a formula), determine its placement in a word-formation system, and assess productivity.
Learning outcomes
The student knows the basic word-formation concepts, the word-formation system and its arrangement, basic word-formation methods and procedures, derivation of nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs; compounding of nouns and adjectives; shortening; marginal ways of forming words. Students have the ability to parse a word based on a specified algorithm (including expression using a formula), determine its placement in a word-formation system, and assess productivity.

Teaching methods
Seminar, active work of students, discussion of professional problems of the subject, group work, presentation of homework.
Assessment methods
Self-assessment, peer review, valuation (appreciation), recommending, questioning. Distinguishing between description and interpretation (observation and evaluation). A minimum of 80% participation in the seminar (i.e. synchronous) and presentation of homework is required for successful completion of the course. The course ends with an oral examination (personal participation "offline" is a requirement). Before the exam, learners take a test which they pass with a minimum of 80%.
