- Course objectives
- The course is designed as a recapitulation of the basic physics course for students of the bachelor's programme "Physics with a focus on education" with the aim to provide students with support for preparation for the professional part of the final state examination (SZZ). The course builds on the knowledge of the sub-disciplines of physics. It develops and consolidates the knowledge and skills that learners have acquired in the course of their studies. The course includes a discussion of the key parts of physics within the framework of the individual topics of the SZZ in physics. The course is intended to help learners gain the necessary insight into the individual parts of physics in the scope necessary for physically correct preparation for teaching physics at primary school.
Knowledge: a comprehensive overview of the topic of physics in the essentials necessary for correct interpretation at the 2nd level of primary school with emphasis on the relationships to practice, nature, principles of operation of machines/devices around us, etc.
Skills: describe basic physical phenomena using correct concepts and laws of physics. Be able to apply the knowledge gained in a broader context.
Attitudes: Understand the importance of physics to correctly describe the phenomena around us. Recognize the potential of physics education as an opportunity for rational and internally consistent perceptions of the nature of the world and the phenomena we encounter and the prevention of socially pathological misinterpretations of them. - Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student should know and be able to:
- Integrate physics ideas, general approaches and broader contexts in depth
- Explain and demonstrate these using theoretical examples and practical examples from everyday experience. - Syllabus

- 3. Dimensional analysis and systems of units
- 4. Description of a physical system in various reference frames, invariance of physical laws
- 5. Quantities characterizing the states of the physical system and the processes in it
- 6. Fundamentals of thermodynamics and statistical physics
- 7. Stationary, quasi-stationary and non-stationary processes
- 8. Periodic processes in physics
- 9. Wave phenomena, description and basic characteristics of wave phenomena
- 10. Structure of matter
- 11. Measurement of physical quantities and issues of measurement processing
