- Course objectives
- Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to understand and to explain the logopedic intervention process in children in early and pre-school age. Students will acquire theoretical knowledge about speech development and language skills. They will acquire the techniques to stimulate speech development and the specificities of interventions in individual types of impaired communication skills in preschool children (impaired speech development, articulation disorders, speech disorders etc.). It gains basic competencies in communication with clients and interdisciplinary
- Learning outcomes
- Orientation in speech development and language skills;
orientation in the possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation in the context of logopedic intervention in children in early and pre-school age;
ability to discuss issues of children with identifiable and potentially identifiable risk in speech development;
overview of individual types of impaired communication skills at pre-school age;
application of acquired knowledge to practical cases in children with impaired communication ability. - Syllabus
- Basic language and speech attributes.
- Verbal communication, non-verbal communication, contemporary aspects of speech ontogeny and language skills.
- Characteristics of language planes (lexical-semantic, morphological-syntactic, phonetic-phonological, pragmatic).
- Early logopedic intervention - definition, current state of provision of early speech therapy in the Czech Republic and abroad.
- Child categories with identifiable and potentially identifiable risk in speech development and language skills.
- Disrupted speech development - definition, classification, child with specifically disrupted speech development.
- Child with delays in speech development and language skills - characteristics, intervention possibilities.
- Child with dyslaliia - current views on dyslalie issues, classification of dyslalie from phonetic and phonological point of view, logopedic intervention.
- A child with a speech disorder - fuzziness, palatolal. Orofacial clefts - etiology, classification. Interdisciplinary care in children with oropharyngeal clefts A child with mutism.
