Course objectives
The aim of the course is an informed approach to the issues of aggressiveness and bullying in the school environment. The course focuses on the phenomena of aggression, bullying and cyberbullying.
Learning outcomes
The student has an informed approach to the issues of aggression and bullying in the school environment.
Syllabus
  • Aggressiveness vs aggression. Individual, biographical and social factors. Aggressive behavior during child's developmental stages. Bullying, cyberbullying - development, attributes, early identification and intervention. Domestic violence. Responsibility of the teacher, school. Legislation. Main topics (outline):
  • Aggression (disposition x manifestation). Types and forms of aggression.
  • Individual biographical and social factors. The question of motivation and needs of the participants.
  • Aggressive behavior in terms of the child's developmental stages. Educational context.
  • Peer relationship and aggressive behavior, social support and social networks, family, school collective.
  • Bullying and cyberbullying - development of bullying, indicators, forms, possibilities of early identification (sociometry).
  • Options for dealing with bullying/cyberbullying - prevention, intervention and rehabilitation (individual, group level).
  • Responsibility of the teacher, school, early intervention.
