- Course objectives
- Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of techniques of work with elements of folk traditions and crafts. In exercises the students will get acquainted with the current concepts of working with natural and technical materials, with working tools and tools and apply this knowledge in realizing themes from natural materials, paper and cardboard, wire, foil and modeling materials.
- Learning outcomes
- Students: They will design and describe the tools and tools used to work with natural and technical materials. It explains the principles of safety and hygiene. They make customary items inspired by traditional crafts and folk customs.
- Syllabus
- Syllabus of exercises: 1st - 3rd week: Working with natural materials, overview of current techniques and their thematic use according to the seasons - birch, willow worms, fruits, leaves, straw, hay, leather, pedig. Weeks 4 - 6: Work with paper - folding, cutting, modeling, knitting and decorating paper - origami, kusudama, paper rolls, candy bag, tea bag, decoupage, papmaché. 7th - 9th week: Working with technical materials - wire and braiding techniques, beads, macrames, fabrics, ribbons, vacuum forming of plastic films. Weeks 10 to 12: Non-traditional materials - polymeric materials, FIMO, gypsum, powder enamels.
