Course objectives
Aims: • present what VYL can do in the target language; • enlarge target group specific classroom language; • presentation and practice of the activities suitable for the pre-school environment; • focus on listening with understanding, speaking, and activities suitable for practicing the said skills (chants songs, instructions).
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to: - specify the capabilities of VYL (3, 4, 5, 6 years of age); - use language suitable for VYL; - present and describe activities targeted at listening/speaking; - use chants/games/colour dictations; - use arts and crafts techniques/projects/puppets/masks; - use topic based learning; - use the tools of the VYL EFL trade.
Syllabus
  • 1) What VYLs can do - pre-school child in FL; 2) listening(developing the receptive skill); 3) speaking(developing the productive skill); 4) jazz chants (using language rhythm); 5) jazz chants (adapting and creating chants); 6) play in pre-school education; 7) colours and dictations for colouring; 8) drawing and dictations for drawing activities; 9) tisk a vytváření různých předmětů; 10) puppets and masks; 11) topic focused work and lesson planning za; 12) tools and techniques for teaching FL in the pre-school environment.
