Course objectives
The aim is to develop students' communicative and intercultural competencies through virtual collaboration and group work with teachers and students abroad. Students will engage in virtual tasks and discussions on topics relating to intercultural experience and cultural differences. Previous knolwedge of and experience in intercultural communication is welcome but not mandated. Further aim is to prepare students for any future digital/virtual interactions with people from across the globe for the purpose of business, exchange of experience and expertise, or for looking for solutions to the global issues. The class is interdisciplinary and will be virtually co-taught by teachers from universities abroad.
Learning outcomes
The students will improve their cultural self-awareness and awareness of other cultures. They will be able to demonstrate their understanding of and provide reasons for various cultural diferences pertaining to education. They will become aware of how interactions in a familiar digital environment (e.g. in one's own social media bubble) may be different from intercultural interactions in an unfamiliar/new digital environment. They will improve their intercultural skills of mindful listening in discussions and while engaging in international tasks online.

  • - Three physical meetings in class. - 6 online events (each approx. 90 min) with teachers and students from partners' university abroad.
