Course objectives
The course is a follow-up to previous courses focused on didactics SOŠ and didactics of vocational subjects. It develops previously acquired knowledge, skills and contributes to the correct application of this knowledge into practice. Attention is paid to other key areas of didactics of practical teaching: goals in practical teaching, didactic principles, psychomotor skills and their acquisition by pupils, methods and forms of teaching practical teaching.
Knowledge : Comprehensive overview of didactics in practical teaching at secondary vocational schools, methods, forms, means suitable for teaching technical fields, fields of services, medical fields and others.
Skills : Set learning goals in practical lessons, plan and implement educational process activities throughout the school year and by school.
Attitudes : Acquire the values ​​of pedagogical tact and work with pupils in practical lessons.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- define the subject of interest of didactics of practical education;
- to define the specifics of teaching practical training;
- characterize the process of teaching practical teaching;
- set goals and content in the teaching of practical education;
- apply instruction and exercises as basic methods of practical teaching;
- apply simulation and problem methods in practical teaching;
- to define organizational forms in the teaching of practical education.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction, secondary vocational education, didactics of practical education in the system of educational sciences. Continuity of practical lessons with practical activities at primary schools.
  • 2. Process of teaching practical lessons, pupils' motivation.
  • 3. Teaching objectives in the teaching of practical education.
  • 4. Content of practical lessons, organization of curriculum in teaching documents. Basic, expanding and deepening curriculum.
  • 5. Application of didactic principles and rules in the teaching of practical education.
  • 6. Practical teaching systems.
  • 7. Acquiring psychomotor skills in the teaching of practical education.
  • 8. Teaching methods in the teaching of practical teaching, briefing, exercises, work with technical documentation.
  • 9. Use of simulation and problem methods in teaching of practical education. Excursion in teaching practical lessons.
  • 10. Organizational forms in the teaching of practical education.
  • 11. Material teaching means in teaching of practical teaching.
