- The one-semester course focuses on the collaboration of Czech and German students (from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg) in addressing current issues of musical culture in contemporary society and their reflection in music pedagogy. It is implemented on the basis of the project Music Education Related Topics Relating to Teaching and Learning Music in Modern Classrooms: The Chances and Challenges of Production-orientation Music Lessons. The aim is to develop and validate common didactic themes (in two language versions) based on the principles of an activity-based approach to teaching and a creative approach to the pupils, the curriculum and the methods used. The developed educational modules are based on empirical research in the field of music sociology, psychology and pedagogy. Czech music in contexts.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, students will present developed ideas for activities in music education (in two language mutations), based on the principles of a creative approach to students, the curriculum and the methods used. On a theoretical and practical level, they will be able to reflect on the latest findings from music-sociological, psychological and pedagogical research.
- Syllabus
- The topic Czech music in contexts enables creative work with Czech artificial music, folklore sources, literature, visual arts. The activities are based on cooperation with foreign students, are based on the search for parallels on the basis of thematic units, suitable didactic methods with regard to the requirements of current education and the needs of pupils, as well as the verification of didactic topics through one's own musical activities.
