Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce inclusion and its approaches from an international perspective, guiding students to understand the principles of inclusion in a democratic society and their application.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: 1) describe the concept of inclusion in education and its historical development - How do students understand INCLUSION?, who are teacher in inclusive education, who are and where work special educators 2) identify various challenges in international content, in agreements (e.g., laws, treaties, and declarations) pertaining to access to education and human rights from childhood through adulthood 3) identify good practise or problems in national content (articles, reports from settings)
Syllabus
  • Virtual meeting - Description of the program's aims in Brno, universities; getting to know each other. Physical week in Brno: Introduction to inclusion in education at the Teresias Center Current didactical approaches in inclusive education Perspectives on diversity and inclusion Program with children in school (ZŠ Gajdošova) Reflection and case study. Closing Virtual meeting - Identification of similarities and differences in inclusive education in Norway, the Czech Republic, and Latvia.
