Course objectives
The aim of the course is
- to familiarize students with the fundamental principles, forms, and tools of self-/assessment of learners in the context of foreign language teaching;
- to develop the students' ability to integrate tools for the self-/assessment of learners into their own teaching.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this seminar, students will have
- knowledge of the fundamental principles, forms, and tools of self-/assessment of learners in the context of foreign language teaching;
- the ability to effectively integrate tools for the self-/assessment of learners into their own teaching.
Syllabus
  • Introduction to key concepts: assessment/evaluation, formative assessment, assessment for/as learning, self-evaluation/self-assessment, peer feedback. Forms and tools of self-/assessment of learners in the context of foreign language teaching. Key principles for promoting self-assessment of learners.

Assessment methods
Development of a theory-based teaching concept to promote learners' self-assessment. Active participation in the seminars (attendance, active involvement in discussions, preparation for discussions in seminar – reading).
Náhradní absolvování
Students on a study abroad program will have their ISP (Individual Study Plan) recognized, and they will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning.
