Syllabus
  • 1.World after World War II - expectations and reality (Europe, America, Asia, Africa). International organizations. 2. Cold War 1946-1953. War in  Korea. 1956 - Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia. Suez crisis. 3. 1960 as the year of Africa. The Berlin and Caribbean crises. 4. Wars in  Indochina - France 1946-1954, USA 1964-1973. 5. The years 1970-1975 as a period of de-escalation. Helsinki, 1975. 6. The ascension of M. Gorbachev and the collapse of the Eastern Bloc - Poland, Hungary Czechoslovakia, Romania; german reunification. 7. USSR in  Afghanistan (1979-1989), Foreign Policy of Russia - Chechen Wars (1994-1996, 1999-2000), Nagorno-Karabakh (1988-1994-2020), Crimea 2014, War in Ukraine. 8. Wars in Europe -Great Britain and Northern Ireland (1966-1998), Greece and Turkey fight over Cyprus (1974). War in the Balkans-states of the former Yugoslavia in  1989-2024. 9.American Foreign Policy - Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan (2002-2021), Syria. The Arab Spring and migration. The situation in Venezuela, Brazil. 10. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict. 11. Africa - Western Sahara, Sudan, Rwanda 1994,.. 12. China, India, Pakistan, Kashmir.
