- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to improve language knowledge and communication skills in Russian:
- expansion of vocabulary on selected topics (at B2 level);
- acquisition of selected grammar topics (at B2 level);
- developing reading comprehension skills, listening to authentic texts and videos in Russian;
- improvement of oral and written expression;
- consolidation of basic punctuation rules and their use in writing;
- understanding of problematic linguistic phenomena through comparison with Czech;
- learning the habits of working with various electronic resources (dictionaries, corpora, AI, etc.);
- consolidation of existing knowledge at all levels of the language. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- to communicate in Russian within the discussed areas;
– to apply new grammar and vocabulary in oral and written speech;
– to understand written and spoken texts in Russian at B2 level;
– correctly pronounce acquired Russian words and intonate Russian sentences;
– to look up the necessary vocabulary and grammar in electronic resources. - Syllabus
- 1. Protection of the environment and animals. Declension of cardinal and collective numerals.
- 2. Lifestyle. Revision of ordinal and multiplicative numerals.
- 3. Physical and mental health. Conjugation of verb tenses, imperative.
- 4. Fashion and dressing. Practice of verb adjectives and participles.
- 5. Current profession. Practice the use of transitions.
- 6. Science and IT. Revision of punctuation rules, practice the use of conjunctions.

- Teaching methods:
- reading and listening to Russian texts;
- translation, supplementary and other exercises incl. interactive;
- essay writing;
- writing posts in the IS discussion forum;
- recording of audio recordings and videos;
- making a presentations/posters and their presentation at the seminar (individual and project activity);
- regular handing in homework;
- continuous individual preparation. - Assessment methods
- Requirements for admission to the colloquium are active participation in class and regular assessment and doing the required home assignments.
The course ends with a colloquium, which consists of two parts.
In the written part, grammatical and lexical knowledge is checked based on the topics covered in the given semester. The test must be written for 75%.
After passing the written test, the oral part follows, which includes:
- analysis and correction of errors in the test,
- a conversation on one of the lexical topics, acquired during the semester (through a photo/picture),
- creation of a dialogue in pairs for a specified situation.
Duration of the oral part 20-30 minutes.
Language correctness and the level of communication and interaction skills in written and oral speech are assessed. - Language of instruction
