Course objectives
Specify the process of education of pupils with special educational needs with an emphasis on basic education. Part of the subject is the basic terminology and legislation of the given subject.
Learning outcomes
- The student will acquire basic theoretical knowledge within the individual types of disabilities of pupils with SEN;
- Control basic terminology related to special pedagogy;
- Focuses on the SEN pupil care system.
Syllabus
  • 1. Inclusion, framework conditions for inclusive education and training (Legislative conditions for inclusion, Education Act, Decree of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic).
  • 2. Pedagogical-psychological counseling services (school counseling centers, specialized counseling facilities)
  • 3. Curriculum Scheme (Conditions for Education of Students with Special Educational Needs, FEP)
  • 4. Special pedagogical diagnostics (concept, diagnostics in early and preschool age, diagnostics of school maturity, main areas of special pedagogical diagnostics)
  • 5. Logopedics (communication, impaired communication ability, etiology and classification of defects and disorders of communication abilities, subjects of special pedagogical care)
  • 6. Surdopedy (etiology, classification of auditory defects, communication systems, auditory prostheses, subjects of special pedagogical care, communication)
  • 7. Specific learning disorders (conception, etiology, SPU classification, SPU diagnosis, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysortography, dyscalculia, legislation)
  • 8. Somatopedy (concepts, classification, characteristics of selected types of physical disability, teaching of pupils with physical disabilities at elementary school, subjects of special pedagogical care, chronic diseases and their influence on the education and professional preparation of the pupil)
  • 9. Ophthalmopedies (concepts, classifications of visual defects, education of children / pupils with heavier visual impairment, counseling by age groups, subjects of special pedagogical care, education, early care, social rehabilitation services)
  • 10. Psychopedics (concepts, etiology, classification, characteristics of individual stages, education of children / pupils with mental disabilities, pre-professional and vocational training, autism spectrum disorders - PAS
  • 10. Concomitant multiple disabilities (concept, group of persons and basic characteristics of severe disability, definition of combined defects, classification according to MEYS, possibilities of education, cerebral palsy)
  • 11. Etopedies (characteristics of behavioral disorders, classification of behavioral disorders, constitutional and protective education, overview and characteristics of school facilities, legislation, Act No. 109/2002 Coll., As amended)

Teaching methods
Theoretical training in the education of children and pupils with special educational needs.
Assessment methods
Discussion of specific topics and professional literature. Completion of the task given in the lessons of the teacher (eg Seminar work / thought map on the topic of activity for a pupil with special needs in a leisure facility, ring or production of aid for a child with special needs for use in leisure activities). Specify the teacher at the beginning of the semester.
