Course objectives
The advanced master's course in Deaf Studies is designed to deepen contextual thinking and facilitate the integration of existing knowledge with skills acquired during undergraduate studies. The main objective of the course is to update topics based on current scientific knowledge, with an emphasis on critical analysis of information and its practical application. The course focuses on individual methodological development and teamwork, directly impacting outreach practices related to hearing impairment. Its structure promotes active student participation through discussion sessions, preparation for teaching, and individual work with professional texts in English. The goal is not only to acquire theoretical knowledge but also to apply it practically in real-world settings, emphasizing collective collaboration and reflection on acquired insights.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to analyze and critically evaluate information related to hearing impairment from both theoretical and practical perspectives. They will be capable of reflecting on their learning and applying acquired knowledge into practice through independent work and lesson preparation. Moreover, students will have an understanding of the legislative framework in the field of education and counseling for individuals with hearing impairment, which is crucial for providing supportive measures and services. Additionally, students will be capable of proposing innovative approaches to support individuals with hearing impairment and to create an inclusive environment for their education and living conditions.
