Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit The course is focused on the knowledge and trends of technical and technical education. The student will be able to pass on qualified information from the field of technology including the preparation of specialized materials and discussions. The student will become acquainted with the history of science and technology and current trends in science and technology.
Syllabus
  • 1. The system of education and technical training in the Czech Republic.
  • 2. Technology as a component of human culture.
  • 3. Significant discoveries and inventions in the history of technology.
  • 4. Technology in design and construction, engineering and energy, environmental issues.
  • 5. Transport Technology.
  • 6. Popularization of science and technology, technical museums in the Czech Republic.
  • 7. Information and communication technologies in technology.
  • 8. The current trends in science and technology, new discoveries and inventions.
  • 9. And future direction of science and technology, inventions and discoveries.
  • Syllabus of lectures:
  • 1st and 2nd week: System of education and technical education in the Czech Republic and abroad. Technology as a component of human culture.
  • 3rd and 4th week: Significant discoveries and inventions in the history of technology.
  • Week 5 and 6: Engineering in construction, engineering and energy, environmental issues. Traffic engineering.
  • Week 7 and 8: Popularization of science and technology, technical museums in the Czech Republic and abroad.
  • Weeks 9 and 10: Information and Communication Technologies in Technology.
  • 11th and 12th week: Current trends in science and technology, new discoveries and inventions. The Future and Direction of Science and Technology, the Risk of Abuse of Inventions and Discoveries.
