- General ecology: Lectures include overview of definitions in general ecology, its relationship to other science departments, its link to pharmaceutical education, research and practice.It also involves basic terms and their definitions.
Ecology of human health includes basic legislative of ecology, characteristics of factors negatively affecting human health. It involves factors of natural and anthropologic origin, which influence the quality of human health and possible consequences of interference of adverse factors in human health. - Learning outcomes
- Knowledge of ecology within syllabus, taking into account the impact of the environment on human health.

- Lectures:
1. Introduction to ecology. Basic terminology. Methods of ecology.
2. Organisms and the environment. Introduction to questions.
3. Species interactions. Population. The population Dynamics. Interspecific competition. Predation, Decomposers and detritivores. Parasitism and disease. Symbiosis and mutualism. Abundance.
4. Human and ecosystems.
5. Heavy metals as pollutants of the environment and their effect on human health I.
6. Heavy metals as pollutants of the environment and their effect on human health II.
7. Organic pollutants of the environment and their effect on human health I.
8. Organic pollutants of the environment and their effect on human health II.
9. Pharmaceutics as contaminants of the environment I.
10. Pharmaceutics as contaminants of the environment II.
11. Pharmaceutics as contaminants of the environment III.
