- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the possibility of preparing home-made cosmetics
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- identify raw materials suitable for the preparation of home-made cosmetics and their sources;
- describe the forms of cosmetic products suitable for preparation of home-made cosmetics;
- create simple formulations of cosmetic products;
- independently prepare simple products. - Syllabus
- Lectures: - Equipment and tools for the preparation of home-made cosmetics, packaging, hygiene principles.
- - Basic raw materials for the preparation of home-made cosmetics and their sources.
- - Lotions and tonics, micellar waters: principles of formulation and preparation.
- - Skin cleansing preparations (cleansing solutions, gels and foams, semi-solid preparations): principles of formulation and preparation.
- - Soaps: principles of formulation and preparation.
- - Lipophilic (anhydrous) preparations (ointments, balms, oils): principles of formulation and preparation.
- - Hydrophilic gels: principles of formulation and preparation.
- - Oleophilic creams: principles of formulation and preparation.
- - Hydrophilic creams: principles of formulation and preparation.
- - Hair shampoos and conditioners: principles of formulation and preparation.
- - Oral hygiene products (toothpastes and powders, mouthwashes): formulation principles and preparation.

- - Facial masks: principles of formulation and preparation.
- Laboratory classes (block training): - Preparation of solutions of hydrophilic and lipophilic origin (micellar waters, cleansing solutions, facial oils, mouthwashes, etc.).
