- Course objectives
- The goal of the course is to ecquire essencial knowledge of important legal regulations for the pharmacists practice.
The topic of the course are basic legal regulations in the field of health law especially in the field of pharmacy practice, but also legal regulations from another branch of law, e.g. civil law, commercial law, labour law - its knowledge are necessary for practice of pharmacists in the pharmacy, in the drug - research, - production, - distribution.
The ethical issues of profession of pharmacists as health workers are an integral part of this course as well. - Learning outcomes
- Completing the course, the student will be able to:
describe the basic legal aspects associated with the performance of the profession of health professional; analyze the ethical principles associated with the provision of pharmaceutical and clinical pharmaceutical care;
actively use the database of Czech and EU legal regulations; - Syllabus
- LECTURES
1)Introduction to the course Law and Etics for Pharmacists, an introduction to "legislation" in general, ethics of healthcare professionals, professional associations, codes of ethics
2)Drugs in the legislation I: The Act on Pharmaceuticals
3)Drugs in the legislation II: Regulations implementing the Act on Pharmaceuticals
4)Regulation of addictive substances
5)The basic legal regulations in the field of health law: health care providers, conditions of authorization to provide health care
6)Conditions for providing health care I: rights and obligations of health care providers and healthcare professionals, control activities
7)Conditions for providing health care II: rights and obligations of pacients and other persons, complaints
8)Public health insurance and pricing and reimbursement of health care
9)Responsibility: criminal responsibility, responsibility in administrative law, disciplinary responsibility, civil lability, labour-law responsibility
10)Civil law: Civil Code, personal entity and legal entity, ownership, contracts, sale contract and lease contract
11)Commercial law and trade law: Commercial Code, commercial companies and cooperatives, contracts, types of trades, trade licenses, relationship to pharmacies and medicines
12)Labour law: employment relationship and agreements for work performed outside an employment relationship, agreement on material responsibility, labour office and employment agency, unemployment, unemployment benefit
13)Any new legislation or new charges to the existing legislation

1)The legal and ethical standarts - the practical part: force and effect of legal regulations, search legislation and work with them, codes of ethics
2)Healthcare professionals in pharmacy and thein ethics
3)The legal regulation of prescription of medicinal products and medical devices, the legal regulation of preparation of medicinal products, good pharmacy practice
4)The legal regulation of dispensing of medicinal products, good pharmacy practice, documentation in the pharmacy
5)Health insurence - the practical part: payment of health care in general, pricing and reimbursement of medicinal products and medical devices
6)Responsibility - the practical part: criminal responsibility, administrative delicts, civil lability for demage
