Prerequisites

It is welcome when students had passed the Pharmacy Practice and have some experience with pharmacy in real settings (spending some time in pharmacy on practice). In the subject we will discuss the legal regulations concerning, e.g. medical prescription and its dispensing, storage of medicines in pharmacy, atc.

Course objectives
The course aims to acquire students with the basics of the theory of law, legal systems. In particular, students will familiarize themselves with the content of selected basic legal provisions in the field of healthcare, focusing on those whose knowledge is a prerequisite for the performance of their future profession from the point of view of the specialty of the pharmacist - healthcare worker. An integral part is the question of ethics: pursuing the profession of a health care professional: in general and a pharmacist especially.
Learning outcomes
Completing the course, the student will be able to: describe the basic legal aspects associated with the performance of the profession of a health professional; analyze the ethical principles related to the provision of pharmaceutical and clinical pharmaceutical care; actively use the database of EU legal regulations;

  • The course topic is basic legal regulations in the field of health law, especially in the area of pharmacy practice.
