- Předmět se doporučuje studentům s ukončeným předmětem Lékové formy a biofarmacie I a současně absolvujícím předmět Lékové formy a biofarmacie II, tj. převážně studentům 4. ročníku studia. Pokud si předmět zapíše student z nižšího ročníku, předpokládá se, že základy technologie lékových forem, nezbytné pro pochopení technologie kosmetických přípravků, si nastuduje samostatně.

- Course objectives
- Introduction of select cosmetic products such as skin cleansing products, toothpastes, antiperspirants and deodorants, hair cosmetics, sunscreens and cosmetics for the adolescents including the ingredients, efficiency and application of mentioned products.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction to Cosmetics. Definition, classification, characteristics, requirements. Legislation and quality assurance.
2. Anatomy and physiology of skin. Skin types. Dry skin and skin hydration.
3. Skin moisturizers: active substances and excipients, technological aspects.
4. Skin aging. Factors influencing skin aging and possibilities of management. Anti-aging preparations: active substances and excipients, technological aspects.
5. Adolescent skin care. Acne: causes of development and treatment.
6. Skin photoprotection I. Solar UV radiation and its effect on skin. Skin protection against negative effects of UV radiation (natural and artificial protection). Sunscreens: definition, characteristics, requirements.
7. Skin photoprotection II. UV filters. Technological aspects of sunscreens. After sun preparations. Self-tanning preparations.
8. Hair cosmetics I. Anatomy and physiology of hair system. Hair preparations. Shampoos: function, requirements, types, ingredients, technological aspects.
9. Hair cosmetics II. Hair conditioners: function, types, ingredients. Special hair preparations. Anti-dandruff preparations. Preparations against hair loss.
10. Dental preparations I. Anatomy of dental system. Problems of teeth and mouth and causes of its development: dental plaque, calculus, caries, hypersensitivity, halitosis, teeth staining, dry mouth.
11. Dental preparations II. Active substances in dental preparations. Dental preparations: toothpastes, mouthwashes, strips, lozenges. Excipients in dental preparations.
12. Deodorants and antiperspirants. Physiology of sweeting. Active substances in deodorants and antiperspirants. Excipients. Technological aspects.
13. Special active substances and excipients in cosmetic preparations. Antimicrobial preservation of cosmetic preparations.
14. Plants in cosmetics. Natural cosmetics.
