Course objectives
This is a follow-up course for students who attended FAOL1 course and it provides them with the opportunity to continue building up their pharmaceutical and medical terminology. Throughout the summer semester students will learn post-beginner Latin grammar, vocabulary, medical prescription phrases and their abbreviations. They will also study the most important pharmaceuticals and medical preparations, their different types and forms.
Syllabus
  • This is a follow-up course for students who attended FAOL1 course and it provides them with the opportunity to continue building up their pharmaceutical and medical terminology. Throughout the summer semester students will learn post-beginner Latin grammar, vocabulary, medical prescription phrases and their abbreviations. They will also study the most important pharmaceuticals and medical preparations, their different types and forms.

    Požadavky na studenta (Student´s credit requirements):
    Minimally 80% course attendance (max 2 absences)
    Active participation in classes
    Minimally 65% accomplishments on the final semester written test and successful accomplishment of the final oral examination

    Obsah (Course syllabus):
    1st Revision of knowledge obtained within the winter semester (Nouns and adjectives of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd declensions)

    2nd Adjectives of the 3rd declension
    3rd Comparison of adjectives of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd declensions
    4th Latin nouns of the 4th and 5th declension
    5th Numerals in Latin
    6th Verbal forms
    7th Prepositions
    8th Prescription phrases and their abbreviations
    9th Latin and Greek prefixes
    10th Latin and Greek suffixes
    11th Latin and Greek compound words
    12th Overview of the most important chemical and pharmaceutical remedies
    13th Final credit test in Latin
