- Course objectives
- This eligible subject introduces sophisticated dosage forms with modified drug release based on the present knowledge in biopharmacy and pharmacokinetics. It deals with special technological approaches of their manufacturing and special control methods ensuring their quality.

- SSYLLABUS OF LECTURES
1 Matrix tablets.
2 Multiparticular dosage forms: pellets and their production technologies.
3 Colonic drug delivery systems
4 Ocular therapeutic systems.
5 Modern vaginal systems.
6 Implants
7 Modern transdermal systems
Syllabus of practical training
Preparation of dosage forms of matrix type and their evaluation.
Preparation of pellets using rotoagglomeration and their evaluation
Preparation of pellets using extrusion/spheronization and their evaluation by dissolution test.
Preparation of pellets by drug solution layering on inactive pellets. Preparation od reservoir-type dosage form with controlled drug release
Methods for technological parameters evaluation (microscopic analysis, sieve analysis, density, mechanical properties, dissolution methods for drug release testing, etc.).
Preparation of microparticles by ionic gelation and solvent evaporation method
Preparation of liquisolid systems
