Course objectives
The lecture series will focus on important and for readers attractive works of well-known authors and on their analysis through relevant critical methods.

Literary works will be placed in a cultural and social context, and their subsequent analysis will be extended by a relevant methodological approach (e.g. postcolonial, cognitive and feminist criticism, ecocritics, a genre perspective). In JS 2021, we notably focus on works of speculative literature in a broader sense, on science fiction and fantasy (see syllabus).
