Course objectives
The aim of the course is to teach Ph.D. students elementary skills and competences of a research worker: the ability to prepare a publication in a world language (in English, typically) that respects rules and usage of international journals.
Learning outcomes
Having participated in the course, students will be able:
- to write a scholarly text in a world language;
- to be acquainted with standards of international journals;
r - to understand principles and rules of peer reviewing.
Syllabus
  • Choice of the topic.
  • Literature search.
  • Choice of sources/research methods.
  • Formulating hypotheses and aims.
  • Research itself (experiment, questionnaire etc.).
  • Evaluation of the research.
  • Conclusions.
  • Writing a study.

Teaching methods
Home preparation, reading, academic writing.
Assessment methods
Students will write and submit a study written in a world language (in English, typically). (The study may overlap with a study presented in CJDY14 or in CJDY20).
