- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the current theoretical concepts of cultural transfers. Within the seminar we will think about their possible use in the field of theatre studies, both historiographically and theoretically. The material to think about these concepts will cover 20th century drama and theatre (selected probes will be discussed) to the present. We will thus see the fluidity of the political, social and cultural circumstances that determine the theoretical concepts themselves.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- understand the theoretical concepts of cultural transfers;
- be familiar with related theoretical concepts (e.g. intercultural theatre);
- apply theoretical knowledge to selected material from the theatre field;
- analytically evaluate the dramaturgy of selected theatres;
- to critically look at contemporary production practice (visit a selected production or several productions) Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version) - Syllabus
