Prerequisites
The course is intended for students of art history, especially (but not only) in M.A. degree. A certain level of knowledge in the field is therefore assumed. Since the output will be a written text, the ability to produce a short professional text is a prerequisite.

Course objectives
The aim of this seminar is an art historical research, analysis and evaluation of an important monument of Brno's modern (from the 19th century onwards) architecture. The seminar will focus on a) on the history b) the urban context c) the personalities of the artists involved d) the exteriors and interiors, the artistic decoration and the plan layout During the semester, emphasis will be placed on team and individual art-design work. At the end of the semester, the output will be student texts that will be prepared for official publication as a brochure for those interested in Brno architecture. Learning outcomes
During the course students will develop their skills as art historians on a specific assignment, specifically in terms of working with literature, contemporary sources, archival sources and art historical material itself. Under the guidance of the tutors, they will improve their writing of specialist texts, and will also try out editing and editorial work on the text.
