Course objectives
Introduction of modern aesthetics as a natural part of history, as a theory related to antiquity and the Middle Ages. Upon completion, students will be able to independently navigate the key doctrines of modern thinking about beauty and art. This semester we will specifically focus on the Aesthetic Writings of G. Hegel.

The learning outcome will be knowledge of the key ideas of Hegel's aesthetics supported by structured preparations/hands-outs.

Reading, discussion and interpretation of the primary text
Assessment methods
Preparation of a short preparation for each lesson (one unexcused absence).

Make-up work in the form of a term paper is possible in the case of multiple excused absences or failure to hand in preparations
