Course objectives
The students will become familiar with the development in the presentation of traditional folk culture on stage, and with the “second existence of folklore”, the systematized beginnings of which could be find already in the first half of the 19th century. The knowledge about the history of this phenomenon is important to understand the natural development of traditional folk culture and to distinguish different forms of folk culture and their functions in particular time stages of the modern-day society.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course the student will be able to identify manifestations of folklorism in a contemporary culture, to define its development and the position in social context.
