- Course objectives
- The course aims to prepare students adequately for the Final Language Study Exam, which corresponds to the DALF C1 official language exam.
- Learning outcomes
- Output level of language according to CEFR: B2/C1. At the end of this course, students should be able to: Understand a wide range of long and complex texts, implied meanings included; speak and interact spontaneously and fluently; use language in an appropriate manner in academic and professional settings; express a nuanced and complex point of view in a structured manner; master tools of textual organization and cohesion without effort.
- Syllabus
- 1) Listening comprehension (approx. 40 min) - Answers to comprehension questionnaires based on recorded documents: - one long document (interview, lecture, conference...) two listenings - several short broadcast documents (news flashes, polls, commercials, etc.) one listening session 2) Reading comprehension - Answer a comprehension questionnaire based on a text of ideas (literary or journalistic). 3) Oral production (30 min) - Presentation based on several written documents, followed by discussion with the jury. Candidate's choice of two fields: humanities and social sciences.

- Seminar-style teaching with active participation and a focus on student interaction, self-correction and peer-evaluation.
- Assessment methods
- Active participation and attendance are required (maximum 2 absences allowed). Regular homework in preparation for the seminar. Final written and oral exam (“examen de fin d’études de langue”).
