Course objectives
Cathegorize archive sources and clarify the criteria of their classification; summarize the basic knowledge of archives and other record offices; define the terms of methodology, method, techniques in historical research; describe and explain the process of historians work and historical methods.
Learning outcomes

Syllabus
  • Archive sources, its definition and criteria of classification.
  • Archives and other institutions (record offices, museums etc.).
  • Archive instruments. Editions of sources.
  • Basic types and groups of archive evidence; principles of source-critique.
  • Terms of methodology, method, techniques of historical research; reconstruction of history.
  • Role of language in history and historiography, Methods.
  • Techniques and outlets of historians work (themes, hypothesis etc.).
