Course objectives
The development of Russian opera from the 1860s to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to understand the specifics of the individual composers and to capture the development tendencies in the Russian music of the given period.
Syllabus
  • Tchaikovsky, Musorgskij, Korsakov, Borodin - videotractions and recordings are analyzed against the background of the main streams of Russian literature.
