Course objectives
Students will experience selected activities to expand media and information literacy. At the same time, they will reflect on and analyse these activities from the perspective of their usefulness for particular target groups. They will gradually learn different approaches and methods for media and information education and finally design their activities.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - describe the differences between traditional and new media and the impact of the changing media world on individuals and society - define the criteria for identifying quality media and evaluate and compare different media according to them - understand the role of social networks in the context of information behaviour, describe their benefits and risks, the role of algorithms and basic approaches to digital wellbeing - identify manipulative techniques and misinformation narratives in media content - design learning activities in line with Kolb's learning cycle and taking into account different learning styles - appropriately apply different methods of non-formal learning to the context of media and information literacy

Introductory introduction to the participants, the topics of the course and its course, the transformation of the media world and the transition from traditional to new media, formal and informal education, Kolb's learning cycle, learning styles, educational methods 2. Media, social networks, algorithms, netholism, digital wellbeing, reflection and analysis of individual activities 3. Media, information, misinformation, manipulative techniques, fact-checking, reflection and analysis of individual activities 4. Media and information literacy (models, standards, competencies), design thinking applied to the educational process, needs analysis, setting educational goals, Bloom's taxonomy, preparation for activities 5. Activities from students and their reflection, working with feedback and evaluation in education, 6.
