- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- Aim of this course is to provide students with praxis in the field of artistic translation, mainly in texts that require original translational solutions and creative approach. Absolvent of this course will gain experience with uneasy work of artistic literature translator. The outcome of this course is a collection of a quality translations from the given languages.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon absolving this course, student will be able to:
- understand the role of translator in the creative process of translation of artistic text
- find and comment translational solutions
- critically look at translation as an artistic process - Syllabus
- 1. Basic overview of the work of translator in the process of artistic translation, possible dangers and challenges, pros and cons of different translational conceptions.
- 2. Selection of the texts for translation.
- 3. Independent work on translations with regular meetings (feedback from lecturers and fellow students).

Consultations with lecturers - Assessment methods
- To gain a credit, students need to translate selected literary text to their mother tongue. Students need to attend consultation seminars (maximum of 3 absences) and provide information about the process of their work to the lecturers and the fellow students via cloud application.
